“I create finely-detailed pen-and-ink drawings of architectural subjects. I am a firm believer in the proverb “The wise man preserves that which he values and celebrates that which he preserves.” The architectural detail that has been a consistent part of human history satisfies a need for beauty that all people share. As with architecture, it is the details that make the difference in my drawings. I want people to see the beauty in the details. Form, line, and light have more emphasis in black and white, perfect for rendering architectural elements. I am interested in conveying the depth created by the contrast of bright light and cast shadows. I am a preservationist with paper and pen.”
